GREETINGS FROM THE DIRECTOR

 I am pleased you came to our Website. The Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC’S) are a wonderful program of the State University of New York to provide job training and placement, GED preparation, college readiness classes and placement, and other important services, free, to low income New Yorkers around the State. The Bronx EOC, supported by our local sponsor, Bronx Community College, serves thousands of students every year. You can find our graduates in satisfying and well paying jobs and in colleges and graduate schools all over New York, and beyond.

Getting training and education is the one best tool in our hands, no matter what our circumstances, to finding a path to a better life for ourselves and our families. At the EOC we have a faculty and staff who know and understand the students who come to us – their aspirations, their challenges, and their extraordinary potential. We know that often all you need is for the door to be opened and through your own hard work and dedication you will do the rest.
We have:
small classes, with experienced teachers who know the real world of work beyond our doors
counselors and job developers to work with you on personal problems and finding and keeping a job with a future
training in areas where employers are hiring, even in tough times
excellent help in preparing for and getting into college, and
state of the art computer labs and many levels of instruction including Microsoft Certification programs
